Challenge

Signifi, leveraging the power of IoT, has impeccably integrated smart technologies across its range of retail solutions, generating a myriad of alerts and data types through its devices.

The VISION platform, robust and mature, stands at the core of these innovations, adept at managing diverse transaction types and accumulating a wealth of valuable data. Flexibility is achieved by using unstructured data instead of rigid schemas, and dispersed across more than 350 different instances, posing a challenge for conventional reporting and analytics tools

DESPITE THE PLATFORM’S CAPABILITY, THERE EXISTS A PRONOUNCED GAP IN ITS ANALYTICS LAYER, PARTICULARLY IN SIMPLIFYING THE COMPLEXITY FROM THE VOLUME OF DATA GENERATED, AND PRESENTING INSIGHTS TO THE CUSTOMER.

SIGNIFI’S HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE TEAMS, ACCLAIMED FOR THEIR INNOVATION, HAVE CRAFTED SOLUTIONS THAT MEET VARIOUS INDUSTRY NEEDS ALSO WANTED TO HARNESS THE POTENTIAL LYING WITHIN THE DATA SPRAWL.

Recognizing this untapped reservoir of information, Signifi’s CEO, Shamira Jaffer, and her team were urgently aspiring to surpass customer expectations. The vision was for a future where this data does not just support transactional needs but transforms into a strategic asset.

Introduction of advanced predictive and prescriptive analytics is a promising avenue for monetization, aiming to unlock the full potential of the VISION data and ensuring Signifi stays ahead in delivering exceptional customer experience.

Solution

The in-house IT team was willing to take it on, but they required detailed documentation and specifications, which the business teams couldn’t find time to provide.

To speed up the project and reduce the burden on the business teams, Signifi’s CEO chose Arkimetrix Analytics for their ability to work with minimal requirements, essentially taking just the broad business objectives and translating that into solutions tailored for Signifi’s four major applications: Retail BOPIS (Buy on-line, pick in store), Retail Vending, I.T. Asset Management Vending and Lockers.

ARKIMETRIX was tasked with an extremely fast implementation, not only to design and analytics layer for the VISION data, but to also integrate Freshdesk Support Tickets into the Analytics dashboards, thereby creating a holistic one-stop platform for all reporting. In addition, the requirement was to use only open-source tools that would integrate easily into the VISION platform.

Outcomes

Arkimetrix Analytics has developed a powerful reporting and analytics application with a focus on consumer functionality. The aim was to create a standardized, easily configurable, and deployable design.

With hundreds of databases in vision and varying kpi and analytic requirements depending on signifi's customer needs, the arkimetrix team implemented a reactive microservices architecture designed around vision produced events rather than apis or data structures.

This approach enables greater flexibility, scalability, and responsiveness, allowing services to be added, removed, or scaled independently.

FOR BUSINESS USERS, THE APPLICATION PROVIDES A COMBINATION OF VISUALIZATION AND TABULAR DATA IN THE PRESENTATION LAYER TO CATER TO INDIVIDUAL DATA CONSUMPTION PREFERENCES.

Additionally, write-back capability for notes and comments is enabled. A blank sheet interface can be made available, to allow users to create 100% custom dashboards. AI and machine learning capabilities have been incorporated, providing real-time demand planning and basket analysis within the application.

The solution was delivered on time and within budget, exceeding the expectations of business users. Currently, it is being deployed with select strategic customers and integrated into Signifi’s exceptional Vision platform.
